Private Robert McClean

 

The background of this North Irish Horseman is not known at present, other than that he was born about 1892.

Robert McClean enlisted in the North Irish Horse between 19 March and 2 April 1913 (No.818 – later Corps of Hussars No.71114). On 9 February 1915 he embarked with a reinforcement draft for France, where he was posted to C Squadron.

McClean remained with the regiment throughout the war, serving in France and Belgium until at least 1917. On 27 February 1919 he was demobilised and transferred to Class Z, Army Reserve.
